  • Straight up Sessions with E45

    women empowerment
One thing that’s become more prevalent since the changing times in the world is women using their voices; whether it’s to speak out against politics or social issues more women are letting their voices be heard in times when it counts. From massive events, down to navigating life I always enjoy hearing another woman’s perspective on life and how they navigate the world, their careers and all paradigms the world throws art them.

So, when e45 had their straight up sessions event I was glad of the opportunity to attend.
It was a panel discussion with Professional boxer Nicola Adams OBE, chef and writer Gizzi Erskine, and beauty vlogger and influencer Em Ford. A diverse panel with different professional accolades and interests.

An evening for women to get together and get straight to the point, share their experiences and feelings and hopefully help other women navigate their lives with confidence.
    women empowerment
With Gizzi hosting, a woman whose career I have followed since her full fringe days the evening unfolded with her getting straight down to the point and discussed issues such as social media, negativity especially comments and judgement that beauty vlogger Em Ford has faced once revealing her face without make up, a viral video which resulted in negative speculation.
Nicola Adams a young sporting legend who has shifted an audiences attitude to women in boxing, who also has previously talked about women not competing when menstruating and is helping change the attitude of how women are perceived in what’s known to be a masculine sport.
     women empowerment
I am passionate about women empowering other women, lending a hand, advice and experience. We are so used to society pitting us against one another that events like this need to be a regular occurrence. We come in different shades, shapes and sizes and an evening like this showed the positive energy that results once we embrace these and support one another.

Would you attend an event like this? Hopefully E45 do more straight up sessions with more admirable ladies to speak. Plus, the drinks and food were delicious so what better excuse to gather with your fellow sisters.

  • How to Wear the Statement Tee

    Posted on by Constance MacTribouy

The statement tee is a statement within itself. After scouring blogs for some inspiration we deduced that the best way to rock one is

With Glee: Nothing evokes a stronger message than telling people how you feel, without having to say a word. Its a loud way to express yourself.

    slogan t-shirt

With A feminine midi-skirt: Statement tees are great because they can be mixed and matched with stronger and even bolder pieces. They work due to their simple monochromatic features.

With Wide leg Pants: Nothing says Chic like a wide leg pant. Such a simple outfit yet a strong statement.

Like you mean business : A bold red lip and a blazer, and a demanding statement who does it better than badgalriri herself?

Basically rock the statement tee however the hell you want!

    Just mean what you wear!

  • Phenomenal Woman

Elle Est Femme.. She is woman.

For our first inspiration piece why not words about you from the most phenomenal wordsmith of them all.......Because you are.

    Phenomenal Woman by Maya Angelou

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
    They think I'm telling lies.
    I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
    The span of my hips,
    The stride of my step,
    The curl of my lips.
    I'm a woman
    Phenomenally.
    Phenomenal woman,
    That's me.

    I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
    And to a man,
    The fellows stand or
    Fall down on their knees.
    Then they swarm around me,
    A hive of honey bees.
    I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
    The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
    I'm a woman
    Phenomenally.
    Phenomenal woman,
    That's me.

    Men themselves have wondered
    What they see in me.
    They try so much
    But they can't touch
    My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
    I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
    The sun of my smile,
    The ride of my breasts,
    The grace of my style.
    I'm a woman

    Phenomenally.
    Phenomenal woman,
    That's me.

    Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
    When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
    I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
    The bend of my hair,
    the palm of my hand,
    The need of my care,
    'Cause I'm a woman
    Phenomenally.
    Phenomenal woman,
    That's me.
